Oak Park Image Archive - 1976-77 Updates

Did you grow up near Oak Park? If so, take a look at the aerial photos from February, 1976. Things have really changed!

New additions for October 25, 2007 (1975-76, 1976-77, 1977-78 school years)

Update: 7/19/2007

No new images today, but I discovered that the 1977-78 Cambia signing party images are actually from the 1976-77 school year. Take a look at the overall-design yearbooks in the photos. If you notice any other 1976-77 photos in the 1977-78 section, please let me know.

I was looking for a negative of Jim Draper from 1969-70 for the Dan Kahler DVD, and I found an envelope of 1976-77 negatives in the 1969-70 box. These are the only negatives I have found from the 1976-77 school year.

I've been scanning a lot of the larger format negatives from the sixties. It's amazing how much better the quality of these negatives is compared to the newer 35mm negatives. I've also been trying to scan some negatives for the classes that are having reunions this summer. It seems that none of the "group shot" negatives for the 1996-97 school year are in the collection. There are quite a few "mugs" from that year that I have been scanning. I still haven't been able to find a single negative from the 1976-77 school year.

I have uploaded all images that are scanned to date. At this point, I am organizing all negatives by school year, and attempting to identify negatives that are unsorted. Christina Geabhart (OP journalism teacher) has graciously loaned me many Oak Park yearbooks to help with the identification process. Thanks to those of you who have helped identify images.

It appears that I have a good selection of organized negatives from school years 1965-1966 through 2002-2003, with the following exceptions:

1966-67 (probably on hand, but not labeled)
1968-69 (probably on hand, but not labeled)
1975-76
1976-77
1978-79 (a few slides from that school year have been identified and scanned)
1981-82
1983-84
1984-85
1985-86
1988-89
1996-97

More images from these school years will probably be found as I continue to sort through boxes of unlabeled negatives.
